Privacy policy
Readout ("the site") publishes this policy under Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea.
1. What we collect, and how
If you subscribe by email, we collect your email address and nothing else. We do not ask for your name, phone number, date of birth or postal address.
Collection happens only through the form on the subscribe page. Your subscription starts only after you click the link in the confirmation email.
If you write to us, the address and contents of your message remain with us so that we can reply.
2. Why we process it
Your address is used only to send notice of new posts. We do not send advertising and we do not use it for anything else.
3. How long we keep it
When you unsubscribe, we delete it immediately. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom; you can also tell us at the address below.
Enquiry emails are kept for up to one year after we have replied, then deleted.
4. Disclosure to third parties
We do not provide your personal information to third parties. We do not sell it and we do not share it.
5. Processors and transfer outside Korea
We entrust the following processing in order to run the service. Both processors keep their servers in the United States, so personal information is transferred outside Korea.

If you do not want this transfer, do not subscribe. Reading the site without subscribing is unrestricted.
6. We do not use cookies
The site sets no cookies and uses no equivalent automatic collection device. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not record per-visitor behaviour. Visit measurement uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and stores no value that identifies a person.
7. Destruction
Personal information whose retention period has passed, or whose purpose has ended, is destroyed without delay. Electronic files are deleted by a method that does not permit recovery.
8. Your rights and how to exercise them
You may at any time ask to see, correct or delete your information, or to have its processing suspended. Tell us at the address below and we will act without delay and tell you the outcome. You may also act through a legal representative or an authorised agent.
9. Security measures
The only item we collect is an email address, and the site keeps no database of its own. The subscriber list exists only inside the processor's admin account, which is protected by two-factor authentication. The whole site is served over HTTPS.

12. Changes to this policy
This policy takes effect on 2026-10-01. If we add to it, change it or remove part of it, we will post notice on this page seven days before the change takes effect.
